General Science – Home & Group Curriculum (Grade 7)
Designed for 11-13 year olds, this General Science course introduces middle school students to a broad range of scientific topics through the lens of God’s design and order. Perfect for students who have completed Middle School Math or equivalent.
The Home & Group set includes the student workbook and leader guide, ideal for once-a-week group instruction with supervised home study.
Course topics include:
- Scientific method, variables, and inquiry-based experiments
- Earth science fundamentals, including geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy
- Basic chemistry and physics concepts
- Introduction to life sciences and general biology
- Environmental science and creation studies
- Simple machines and practical applications
Labs incorporate PowerPoint lectures for pre-class study and in-class hands-on experiments focusing on safety and lab best practices. Students take notes in their workbook supplement and complete quizzes and exams, with module tests done at home under parental supervision.
A science project is required to reinforce learning and application.
Parents support students by overseeing home tests, encouraging preparation, and guiding project completion.
