Elementary Math 4/5 Home & Group Curriculum (Ages 9-11)
This course is the first in a fast-paced sequence that covers three years of math in just two. Designed for students who have completed A-Beka 3 or an equivalent course, Elementary Math 4/5 completes mastery of the four basic operations and introduces key transition topics.
Students will begin working on measurement, geometry, number lines, and missing number problems to prepare for Pre-Algebra.
Ideal for homeschool and group settings, this curriculum balances rigorous instruction with parent or group leader supervision, helping students progress confidently toward higher-level math courses.
Process
This is the first course in the sequence which moves students through 3 years of math in 2 years. This sequence can help a student catch up, or help ensure that a student gets to calculus by age 16. Elementary Math 4/5 is the final step in completing the learning objectives for elementary mathematics. Elementary Math 4/5 also begins the process of mastering transition topics. Because this course serves dual purposes, it includes both final mastery of four basic operations, and introduction of transition topics such as measurement, geometry, number lines, and missing number problems.
