British and Classical Literature Online Course Text (Grades 11–12)
This advanced literature course guides students through thoughtful analysis of British and classical works spanning from ancient origins through the 20th century. Students will study authors such as the Bible’s writers, Homer, and major British authors, focusing on literary tools like characterization, setting, and irony.
The course examines historical context, author backgrounds, predominant worldviews, and biblical relevance of themes. Students develop college-level discussion skills and express interpretations grounded in a Christian worldview through charts, essay questions, and literary analysis essays.
- Parents are responsible for purchasing the course workbook and reading titles (print preferred) at the start of the year. Students are expected to pace their reading and complete assignments independently and on time.
