Chemistry 1 (Grades 9–11)
This college-prep chemistry course offers a rigorous introduction to foundational principles of matter, reactions, and energy. Designed for students who have completed Biology and Algebra 1, this course prepares students for advanced science studies and builds a strong scientific framework from a Biblical worldview that highlights God’s precision in creation.
Students will explore key chemistry concepts including chemical equations, stoichiometry, atomic structure, types of reactions, solutions, thermodynamics, gas laws, acid-base reactions, redox reactions, and more. Practical applications and real-world relevance are emphasized throughout.
Weekly labs begin with instructor-led PowerPoint lectures over the material covered at home. Students participate in hands-on experiments, follow established safety protocols, and take notes in the course supplement. Module tests are taken at home under parent supervision. Quizzes and evaluations are determined by the instructor.
