Elementary U.S. Geography (Grades 3–5)
This engaging, hands-on course gently introduces elementary students aged 8 to 10 to the physical and cultural geography of the United States. Through interactive class activities, students develop foundational social studies skills including map reading, identifying geographical features, and using an atlas effectively.
Students will learn about longitude and latitude, cardinal and intermediate directions, and explore the unique characteristics of each state and geographical region. The curriculum includes states and capitals, time zones, monuments, and national parks, all taught through games, songs, simulations, and stories to make learning fun and memorable.
- Throughout the year, students will complete short weekly homework assignments and two semester projects: a state project and a national park project, allowing them to dive deeper into topics of personal interest and showcase what they’ve learned.
