Prerequisites: Pre-Algebra
Suggested Age: 13–14
Designed for 8th-grade students, this engaging middle school science course prepares students for high school biology by introducing foundational topics in chemistry, physics, and earth science.
With a focus on discovering God’s design in creation, students will explore states of matter, atomic structure, chemical reactions, forces and motion, energy, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, and more. Earth science concepts are also woven throughout the course.
Students will participate in regular lab experiments, guided by in-class PowerPoint lectures and hands-on activities. Safety and proper lab techniques are emphasized throughout. Quizzes and exams are determined by the instructor, while module tests are completed at home under parental supervision. A science project is required for course completion.
