Middle School Literature (Ages 12–14)
This yearlong homeschool literature course helps middle school students engage with great books across multiple genres, including fiction, fantasy, biography, short story, poetry, and drama. Designed for independent readers ages 12–14, the curriculum develops critical thinking and communication skills through reading, discussion, and writing.
Students will explore how literature reflects historical context, cultural values, and biblical principles. Through guided analysis, hands-on activities, creative responses, and historical connections, students grow in both appreciation and understanding of classic texts.
This course complements the writing and grammar taught in Middle School English 1 or 2, and is ideal for students who can write short essays or responses to reading prompts and participate in thoughtful discussion.
- Parents are responsible for purchasing the course workbook and all assigned reading materials (print versions preferred). They also help their student manage reading schedules and ensure assignments are completed on time.
