Elementary History and Geography 3 (Ages 8–10)
This hands-on course gently introduces students to the foundational elements of U.S. history and geography through engaging, story-based learning. Designed for children ages 8–10, the course combines interactive class activities with memorable songs, folk tales, and games to bring American history and geography to life.
Students will explore important historical figures and events, while also learning to identify states, capitals, major landmarks, national parks, and symbols of Americana. Emphasis is placed on building key social studies skills such as reading maps, using an atlas, distinguishing geographical features, and understanding cardinal and ordinal directions.
Each state and U.S. region is explored for its unique features, including flags, landforms, cultural highlights, and fun facts. Students will also complete two semester-long projects of their choice: one focused on a U.S. state and the other on a national park.
- Weekly homework and periodic quizzes reinforce what is taught in class, while projects and simulations encourage deeper exploration. This course is ideal for elementary learners ready to develop a love for American history and geography through meaningful, age-appropriate experiences.
