This foundational high school math course introduces students to core algebraic concepts while integrating geometry topics—providing a solid pathway toward higher-level courses like Geometry, Algebra 2, and Calculus.
Using Saxon’s proven approach, this course covers equations and functions (linear, radical, rational, quadratic, exponential), polynomials and factoring, systems of equations, scientific notation, and more. Students will also explore geometry concepts including surface area, volume, and the Pythagorean Theorem.
  • Designed specifically for co-op and classroom settings, this course helps students build strong problem-solving skills and prepares them to progress confidently through upper-level mathematics. A supplementary summer Geometry Proofs course is available, or students may opt for a full-year Geometry course after completing Algebra 1.
