Middle School English 1 (Ages 10–12)
This course supplement helps students strengthen foundational grammar and writing skills typically introduced during the elementary years. Designed for students working at a 6th-grade level, it builds essential language mechanics and writing habits that support future middle and high school coursework.
Students receive weekly instruction in grammar using Easy Grammar 6, reinforced through homework and classroom practice. By the end of the year, students will confidently identify all major sentence components and use them correctly in writing.
The supplement also introduces structured writing through bi-weekly compositions, encouraging students to apply what they’ve learned while building stamina and confidence. Weekly vocabulary and spelling work focuses on prefixes, suffixes, and the integration of new words into writing.
- Parents are responsible for grading assignments with available answer keys (grammar, spelling, and vocabulary), while instructors provide feedback on writing and exams. This program helps equip young writers with the tools they need for strong communication and academic success.
