High School Astronomy – Online Course Supplement (Grades 9–12)
This one-credit online supplement supports students enrolled in a high school-level astronomy course, such as One Day Academy’s STEM-based Astronomy class. It is designed for students ages 14–18 who have completed Algebra 1.
The supplement covers astronomy topics including the solar system, stars, galaxies, orbital mechanics, black holes, wormholes, dark matter, electromagnetic radiation, celestial navigation, and more. Students will study both historical and modern astronomical science, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experiments.
Course materials are rooted in a biblical worldview and include research presentations, lab safety training, and observation activities. Students are expected to take notes, complete lab assignments, and participate in optional field experiences like star parties (as determined by the instructor).
There are no at-home tests in the textbook; assessments and grading are determined by the course instructor.
