Marine Biology – Online Course Supplement (Grades 9–12)
This high school marine biology course supplement is designed to support upper-level students taking an online class. It is ideal for students who have completed Biology 1 and want to explore marine science with hands-on labs, dissections, and fieldwork opportunities.
The course covers oceanic systems, marine organisms, ecosystems, biological kingdoms, and vertebrate/invertebrate marine life. Students engage with material through PowerPoint lectures, lab activities, dissection work, and presentations. Topics include coral reefs, zonation, ocean chemistry, and biodiversity.
Safety and lab protocol are emphasized. Quizzes and tests are administered by the instructor or taken at home under parent supervision. Optional field trips and a required research presentation deepen student engagement.
This curriculum offers one high school science credit and is taught from a Biblical worldview, inspiring students to appreciate and steward God’s creation through scientific discovery.
