Elementary Literature (Ages 9–12, Grades 4–6 Level)
This literature course is designed for students approximately in grades 4 through 6, focusing on developing a love for literature while mastering common literary terms and exploring a variety of genres.
Students are expected to read for about 20 minutes daily, five days a week, totaling 100 minutes per week. Weekly reading assignments, discussion questions, and reading summaries help reinforce comprehension and engagement. Students will also create a foldable resource book of literary terms as a hands-on learning tool.
Novels listed in the curriculum are to be read at home in the assigned order. Audio versions are always an option for support.
- Parents play an important role by ensuring student attendance, checking for understanding, and supporting reading fluency through shared reading and listening activities.
This is a shrink-wrapped loose-leaf booklet. You will want a one-inch binder to place it in.
