British & Classical Literature (Grades 11–12)
This upper-level high school literature course guides students through British and classical works spanning from ancient origins through the 20th century. Students will explore how biblical authors, Homer, and notable British writers used literary devices such as characterization, setting, and irony to develop themes relevant to their cultures and to today.
The course develops students’ ability to discuss major artistic works thoughtfully and confidently, integrating a Christian worldview. Lessons include historical context, author background, thematic studies, literary analysis essays, and writing assignments.
- Parents are responsible for purchasing the course workbook and the required reading books (print versions preferred). Students should pace their reading, complete worksheets, and submit writing assignments independently and on time.
