Physical Science – Grades 7–9
Designed for middle school students (typically 8th grade), this Physical Science course introduces key concepts in chemistry, physics, and earth science while encouraging students to explore God’s creation through hands-on learning. It provides a strong foundation before moving on to Biology 1.
Students will investigate topics such as:
- Scientific method and experimental design
- States of matter, atomic structure, periodic table
- Chemical reactions and properties of elements
- Motion, forces, energy, sound, light, electricity, and magnetism
- Earth science and environmental systems
- Research and analysis techniques
Class time includes PowerPoint lectures, note-taking in the course supplement, and hands-on experiments to reinforce material studied at home. A science project is required as part of the curriculum.
Safety protocols and proper lab techniques are emphasized throughout the course. Quizzes and exams are assigned by the instructor, while module tests are completed at home under parent supervision.
Prerequisite: Pre-algebra.
