Elementary English 3 (Ages 8–10)
Elementary English 3 is a full-year homeschool language arts course designed for students working at a 3rd- or 4th-grade level. This curriculum strengthens foundational grammar, writing, spelling, and vocabulary through structured, age-appropriate lessons with daily parent support.
Using the Easy Grammar Grade 3 workbook, students learn grammar rules through engaging, hands-on activities like color-coding parts of speech. Lessons also focus on punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure.
Students develop writing skills through one-paragraph compositions, creative poetry, and letter writing. Weekly spelling and vocabulary practice reinforce basic word patterns, syllabication, and word meaning. The course also includes handwriting practice using Scripture, as well as guided dictation for fluency and listening skills.
- Parents are responsible for grading spelling, vocabulary, and grammar assignments and for supporting their child’s daily work at home. Teachers will review and grade writing assignments. Coursework typically takes about 20 minutes per day, four days per week.
