High School Engineering 1 (Ages 14–17)
This course is designed for students who enjoy building, design, and engineering challenges across fields such as structural, civil, mechanical, biomedical, chemical, electrical, aerospace, and industrial engineering.
Students will dive deeper into engineering principles and the design process, working in teams to develop projects that range from wooden truss bridges and solar cars to breadboard circuits, soldering electronics, and hydraulic arms.
The curriculum integrates mathematical and scientific theory with hands-on application. Students analyze project failures to identify design weaknesses and improve solutions. They also practice professional engineering presentation skills and learn technical drafting using 3-view and isometric drawings.
Alongside technical skills, students study the Engineering Code of Ethics through a Christian worldview, preparing them for responsible engineering careers.
- Prerequisite: Algebra 1.
