Exploring Art Mediums for Kids (Grades 3–6)
Explore, experiment, and experience a wide range of visual art materials and techniques in this dynamic and hands-on art class designed especially for elementary students aged 8 to 12. This course encourages young artists to think creatively and develop their artistic vision by engaging with both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media.
Students will gain foundational skills in drawing, painting, and textile arts while learning to observe the world around them through an artist’s eyes. The class also introduces basic hand-building and sculpting skills using clay and other tactile materials, helping students develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Throughout the course, students will study the work of famous master artists, drawing inspiration from their styles and techniques. Creative projects and experiments guide students as they explore color, texture, form, and composition, allowing them to build confidence and discover their unique artistic voice.
